Mirage is an illusion and illusion implies an act of deceiving or deceived simply due to ones own unintentional imagination. A Mirage in itself is a perfect example of an illusion. A mirage is an optical illusion, a plane or a surface of redundant nature in the foreground with an illusion of a shimmering and shiny plane or surface way in the far distance. Regardless of how one may see illusion in this work, the work itself is a good study of balance, weight and values in the composition. The white lines and the spaces within them seem just the right ingredient to stand against the vast planes of warm tonality underneath. The solid white lines creates the illusion of weightlessness yet holds a heavy counterbalance to that of the blurred soft textures that recedes into the infinite space.
